Swift Worldwide Resources is an international recruitment firm specializing in talent acquisition within the oil and gas industry. We are currently looking for a strong Process Engineer to work closely with members of the Engineering and Construction Management teams to ensure the safe, timely, and cost effective delivery of construction services to the business units and to achieve consistency in Construction Management work practices.

Your Role with the company:
The successful candidate will be a member of a multi-discipline team and provide collaborative engineering support to projects in a dedicated the portfolio. Many of the projects will also be developed within an outsourced engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) framework, requiring excellent communication and a strong ability to work in a team environment.
Specific accountabilities and responsibilities will include the following:
•developing and maintaining close working relationships with operating areas at the Site,
•ensuring projects will meet the process design and operational requirements for successful implementation through PFD development, heat and mass balance development, leading P&ID development and signing off these documents,
•provide leadership and accountability to the project in the area of Responsible Care Standard adherence in process design such as leading HAZOP reviews, ensuring environmental commitments are being met, and ensuring compliance to Loss Prevention Standards,
•support and participate on the project teams in the disciplined application of the Project Development and Implementation (PD&I) process throughout project lifecycle: Investigation, Development, Implementation, Validation, and Commercial Operation,
•provide expertise in economic evaluation and Business Case development,
•identify and implement improvements to existing PD&I processes.
•Support and involvement in the Process Engineering Network
Qualifications:
•Chemical Engineer with eligibility for professional registration with APEGGA,
•Interest and enthusiasm for understanding plant process equipment operation, troubleshooting, design, and optimization,
•Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic work environment
•Demonstrated strong willingness to take initiative and be a self-directed worker,
•Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present or explain information using a variety of formal presentation tools and techniques,
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams
•Minimum 3 years recent project and/or operating experience within Petrochemical, Refinery or Gas Plant environment,
•Demonstrated commitment to environmental protection, health, and occupational safety,
•Ability to work in team environment including a willingness to ask questions, confront and resolve conflicts,
•Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills,
•Ability to work within one or more "project teams" and manage multiple projects at various stages of development,
•Ability to deal with ambiguity and frame issues to define scope,
•Experience with a variety of hazard analysis techniques and specific expertise at leading HAZOP studies,
•Ability to practically employ engineering concepts,
•Familiarity with the Microsoft Office software suite, Aspen Simulation Packages, Aspen Process Explorer, and SAP would be beneficial
