Work Location: Various Locations Province: Alberta Country: Canada Our client is looking for all levels of Cost Controllers to work on one of various projects in the Alberta region. These roles range in experience and responsibilities, but are related to projects in the oil & gas industry. Your Role with the company: • Developing detailed estimate breakout based on the original budget tagging with our client’s Work Master and client codes for the population of cost control systems. • Preparing cost reports related to incurred costs, earned value, cost performance factor and forecast. • Analyze cost codes and coding issues, original budget to client codes as well as the current project setup. • Prepare and analyze bi-weekly and monthly client cost reports. • Prepare and analyze the monthly internal Internal Revenue Recognition Report (IRRR) and Key. • Investigate and report on trends / trendable factors. • Provide monthly Business Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). • Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current/outstanding issues and/or weekly process. • Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Cost Controllers within the team. • Support reporting requirements for various functions. • Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Project Controls Lead. • Post, review and print off any required information from our client’s Document Management System which pertains to current tasks, responsibilities and projects. • Create and produce Client and Internal Cost Reports • Prepare and update work procedure/desk instructions for Prism. • Together with the Trend Coordinator (where applicable), assist or undertake the implementations, process, tracking, analysis and reconciliation of trends. • Maintain and update the cost code mapping within JD Edward system and Prism Control account as well as the Client Cost Code mapping files. • Prepare and update Client coding procedure & Guidelines. • Review and validate Expense/P-Card/Timesheet/Material Requisition cost codes. • Maintain, update and validate information within Prism system with inputs from Primavera Schedule, Progress Trackers, JDE(Actuals) and Change Management System • Interface and provide on-going technical support to construction. • Designate for the Project Control Lead as required. • Communicate cost control details effectively to internal clients.
Qualifications: • Minimum of college diploma/certificate is required. • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel and Access), Prism. • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), JD Edwards. • Expert computer skills: Cost Processor (Prism) or similar software experience. • Proven proficiency in cost engineering within the industrial construction environment.
